Boo Hoo

I'm huuuuuuuuungry. I couldn't watch one of my favorite shows last night, Chopped because it would make me even more hungry.

Sigh. BUT, I am losing weight and I feel awesome. So that's good.

Struggling...

Losing weight and being on a diet is definitely not fun...or easy. I'm trying to think of it as a "Lifestyle Change" and not a diet. I was really craving pizza, or some macaroni and cheese, but I know that is not going to help me with my goal. So, I had Tilapia and cauliflower instead. Mmmm.

I'm starving (pun intended) off boredom by making delicious meals that are full of flavor and healthy. I wouldn't say I'm starving, but by no means am I ever full.

No one said it would be easy. I'm already feeling a big difference so it's nice to see results so quickly. It's giving me motivation to keep going and stay on track!

Just Kidding...

Sooooo, clearly what I am doing now isn't working. I need limits. I need restrictions. Too many choices is a bad thing for Mrs. Awesome.

Therefore I am trying something new. I hate myself in pictures, none of my clothes fit, and I REFUSE to purchase new clothes.

I'll let you know when I drop my first 10 pounds.

Not exactly what I was looking for, but I guess it works!

Boot Camp

I went to Boot Camp yesterday, and I can barely walk, or sit. So. Freaking. Sore.

But that is a good thing. She is starting to get comfortable and knows my limits. Damn her.

Looking forward to tomorrow. Hopefully we will work on arms since my legs resemble Gumby at the moment.

You Are What You Eat

So during my Weight Loss Adventures, I've learned a few things along the way. Like how many POINTS are in everything. Seriously, just ask me. (2 POINTS in a "glass" of Chardonnay)

One instance where it comes in handy is when I'm on the road. I travel quite a bit for my job (115k miles on my 2006 car) so I sometimes need to grab something quick...AND healthy.

My favorite go-to option is the Charbroiled BBQ Chicken Sandwich (6 POINTS)** from Carl's Jr. it's super flavorful, and with a Diet Coke (they don't have Pepsi, boo!) is pretty satisfying. We all know one can't survive just on BBQ Chicken alone (I tried), so there have got to be options. The only other item that is comparable is the Chicken Fajita Pita (6.5 POINTS) from Jack in The Box. The pita is whole wheat, and it has grilled chicken, lettuce, grilled onion and tomato. I had one today and it was fantastic.

Not all chicken sandwiches are made the same. The BBQ Chicken Club from Carl's is 11 POINTS! Must be all that delicious bacon and cheese. Mmmm. A McDonalds classic grilled chicken sandwich is 9 POINTS, but the chicken nuggets are only 5. But really, who knows what is in those? Don't get me wrong, I love those little nuggets slathered in sweet & sour sauce just as much as the next person...but I know it won't keep me full. And they probably aren't really chicken. Just sayin'.

Now, if I'm really splurging and I take 15 minutes to eat (and not eat and drive at the same time which may or may not have resulted in many spilling situations) I love me a Panda Express Panda Bowl. The Mushroom Chicken with Steamed Rice option is 10 POINTS per serving. A little steep on the POINTS but man I love me some Panda. Nom. And the Spring Rolls are just 1 POINT. Sometimes I can't resist, "You want add Veggie Spring Roll?" Come on, you have to. Don't lie. We're friends here.

Anyway, when I get tired of eating protein bars, protein shakes or forget to bring a turkey wrap this is my go-to menu. Hopefully I have shed some wisdom on the wonderful world of Fast Food.

So basically I'm mostly a Chicken with a little Panda in me. Like a white chicken with black spots? Like a black eye? How do I explain that one? Maybe I shouldn't post things so late.

**A plain hamburger is 6.5 POINTS! Gross! Go for the flavor peeps. And thank me in the morning.

Weigh In Friday...UP 2 Pounds?

Ok then.

I started boot camp last week and was super diligent about my eating. Tracking every little thing, and being very good. I did boot camp on Tuesday and Thursday. The trainer created custom work out plans for me, and I was there for over an hour each day.

On Friday I was actually EXCITED to hop on the scale to see my progress. To my astonishment, I had GAINED two pounds. What the heck? I drank tons of water, worked out, ate right....what gives?

Of the people I surveyed, they said "muscle weight." The dreaded "muscle weight." Growing up I always heard this. I was an athlete until I started college, and quit my intense volleyball workouts. I did have quite a bit of muscle, but that is something you don't really want to hear.

Anyway, I'm trying to not let it bother me since I am doing the right things. Just putting my head down and continuing the weight loss path. Hopefully this Friday will bring something different.

Weigh In Fridays...

Sooooo I lost .2 pounds. Not 2 pounds, .2. Not awesome. Not a gain either.

Now that I've finally figured out what I can eat to stay full (or not starving) all day, I need to incorporate exercise. The longer I make excuses, the easier it is to avoid.

Cheers to another week!

Latest and Greatest...

It's been awhile since I've posted on here. It doesn't mean my weight loss goals have gone to the wayside. They've actually been ramped up...

As I mentioned in another post Lose 25 Pounds by January 1st, I'm committed to getting this weight off. For so long, I've been making excuses. I'm tired of it and ready for a change.

The whole two week vacation was a wash in my mind...but it actually helped! With ALL OF THE WALKING we did, I actually lost 2 pounds! I'm sure my diet of bread, cheese, wine and beer wouldn't do so well here, but somehow I came out on top.

It was Mr. Awesome's birthday yesterday, and I used my Flex POINTS for dinner, and didn't have any cake. This was especially difficult because it's probably the best cake on the planet. Monday and Tuesday I was actually below my POINTS allowance and today I've eaten SUPER healthy also. (Non-Fat Greek yogurt with peaches, Coffee with non-fat milk, home-made turkey wrap, grapes and tons of water)

It makes me feel good to eat well. I can see some changes in my stomach (the first place I gain and lose) so that is encouraging. I'm fighting a cold so I don't want to over-exert myself with exercise so I will do a Pilates video later tonight.

I'm taking control and documenting all of my POINTS. I weigh in tomorrow, and I know it will be good. Even if I don't have a huge loss tomorrow, I know that I am making healthy choices and changes.

And that? Can't be measured on a scale.

p.s. I kinda want this scale. So cute!

New Discovery

Alert: Making good choices and cooking at home help you lose weight. Shocking discovery, I know.

I lost 2 pounds this week, and I definitely deserved it!

Examples here:
On Friday (27th), I got lunch for the office and it was Baja Fresh. Instead of indulging, I dropped it off, set it up, and went to my home office and had a Lean Cuisine.

Tuesday was also a lunch for the office day, and everyone wanted pizza. I went to the store that morning, and made a fresh green salad for the office as well. I had a HUGE plate of lettuce with some balsamic vinaigrette and one teensy slice of garlic bread. Aaaaand 2 Diet Pepsi's and a ton of water.

Wednesday was my SIL's (sister in law) birthday and we went to Cheesecake Factory. I ordered Chicken Medallion's (grilled chicken and brown rice) and just had a bite of MIL's reeses cheesecake. Mr. Awesome and I went to Gelato instead for dessert, and I got the Fat Free Lemon. Just as delicious. :)

All of these awesome choices helped me to get to my 2 pound weight loss. Here's to many more wonderful weeks ahead!

What....am I doing?

I just looked at my weight history and I started WW online in February. Aaaannd I still haven't hit the 10 pound weight loss mark. I mean, 6 months? What am I doing?

Time to get serious. Seriously. WWKME. What Would Kate Moss Eat.

Why...

Is it so much easier to put ON the weight, than lose it?

I went to the Doctor today, and she told me that the first step is acknowledgment. She also said that her first year of marriage was the hardest for her.

Some great words of encouragement.

Plateau

So I've hit a plateu. I haven't lost in a week. Frustrated to say the least. It may or may not be from the excessive drinking I did over the 4th of July weekend.

Back on track, friends!

I love the Scale

Another pound friends! The weight is dropping like crazy.

YAY! I'll be wearing this shirt in no time. :)

Progress!

So I'm down 6.6 pounds! This is soooo exciting! On my Weight Watchers online I have a little star for "5 Pounds."

Only 49.4 pounds to get to my ultimate goal, but we'll see how that goes. I'd be happy to fit in my skinny jeans again.

Weekends are my Enemy

Marissa Miller, Victoria's Secret Model. She is my bikini inspiration!

When it comes to weight loss, weekends are definitely the enemy. I got this article emailed to me from Weight Watchers, and it's like they were reading my mind...

Weekends are synonymous with fun, friends and eating out, so it’s easy to think you can’t stay on track. What you probably don’t realize is that weekends are a time to fit in additional activity and a chance to cook your meals whether it’s for the day or for the week ahead. Successful members eventually change their attitudes to see the opportunities a weekend presents rather than the challenges it contains.

I always look forward to spending time with friends, and that normally revolves around eating and drinking. Maybe instead of meeting up for dinner, we meet later for drinks and eat dinner at home. I think I can budget 4 points for 2 glasses of Chardonnay on the weekends. It's also hard because my mom and my in-laws love meeting for breakfast. This starts the day off with a TON of points already.

With the summer months FINALLY here, I will just have to incorporate more walks with hubby and the dog, and maybe meeting at the pool.

Changing bad habits are hard, but I know it will be worth it.

Epiphany

You know that moment when you realize you are the fat friend? You know the one. You're used to being your normal size, then you see pictures of yourself and realize YOU are actually the fat one?

Yeah, that was me this weekend.

Plan Yout Own Success Story-from Weight Watchers

Do you ever read our Success Stories and wonder if that could one day be you?

Why not do some positive planning to make that dream come true? By taking a few simple steps, you could make great strides towards your goal.

It may seem a strange idea, but planning your own Success Story may just be the key to your own success. If you can visualise the person you’re going to be, you may well be halfway there. After all, you need to know where you’re going to get there!

Plan your appearance

Visualise your Success Story photo shoot by answering a few questions…

•What can you see yourself wearing? Is it perfect skinny jeans or something smarter?

•What kind of colors do you see? Are they different from what you’re wearing now?

•How do you seem to feel? Do you see yourself smiling or serious?

•Just how slim are you? Can you translate that energetic, slim person to a target weight?

By answering these simple questions you may be able to identify the kind of clothes you really want to be able to wear, the style you need to aim for and even your target weight.

Plan your turning point

As you probably know from reading other people’s Success Stories, people who’ve lost weight usually report some kind of turning point. Looking back in your mind’s eye, what turned out to be the key to your own weight loss? (Did you start planning more carefully? Did you become more adventurous? Did you start tracking in a new way? What kind of new exercise did you try out?)

There’s bound to be something that will trigger you forward to higher levels of success. Work out what it could be in your own personal Success Story…

Plan your people

Although we’re alone to some extent in life, most of us get a lot of support from people around us. Looking ahead, who is it that made the difference to you? (Was it your leader? Was it the people you got to know the in the Weight Watchers Community? Was it your weight-loss buddy… If so, who was that exactly? Did you manage to talk a relative into joining you on your weight loss journey? Was it those phone calls you made to that supportive somebody?

Plan your new priorities

Most success stories include some mention of a change of priorities. How will your life have changed? What will your new perspective be? What new routines will you have? Which part of your new lifestyle will have been an essential part of getting you to this point? (Is planning now your top priority? Is it buying in healthy snacks? Is it regular walking? Do you see yourself regularly going to the gym?)

Plan your pointers

What will your Tips be? If you can guess what your keys to change are, you’ll be well on your way to that real Success Story write-up. (If you're already there, tell us!)

Rough Waters, Smooth Sailing Ahead

The last couple weeks have been rough to say the least. I was off traveling for work, then I was planning a bridal shower. I stopped taking care of myself, (i.e. no sleep, not enough veggies and water) so I've been on a plateau. I was in bed for 2 days straight and hopped up on drugs. This helped with the weight loss, not gonna lie.

I'm not gaining, but also not losing. Need to get into high gear. Hopefully I'm feeling good enough to hop on the elliptical for about 30 mins tonight, and maybe a full 45 tomorrow.

Today was weigh-in so it's a fresh start for me. Here's to a great week ahead!

Today

I had Panda Express for lunch.

BUT, I had the Panda Bowl instead of the 2 entree, plus rice. See, little changes!!! I still have 9.5 points for dinner. What to have, what to have. A serving of mushroom chicken is only 3 points...no, not twice in a day. Me? Eat Panda twice? In a day?! Noooooo. Never.

Last Week

Soooo, I gained two pounds last week. I was traveling for work, but I did work out 2 of the 3 nights I was gone. Too much sitting between driving and flights. Plus sodium laden food. Not so good.

Luckily, this morning I weighed myself and the 2 pounds are off. Whew. I'm drinking TONS of water and I know it's helping to flush out the crap from last week.

Here's to a great week!!

I Need This Shirt

This really happened today. Maybe just a coincidence that the second time I wore this dress someone asked me if I was pregnant. Or it could be the extra 30 pounds I'm packing lately.

Today was taken to another level though. Someone actually cupped my belly and asked if I was pregnant. I didn't realize what she said at first and tried to shake it off. It put me in a really bad mood for the rest of the day. So, I came home and worked my a&* off to the Jillian Michaels Fat Burning Cardio DVD.

Moral of the story, never wear leggings with a loose dress when you are 30 pounds overweight. That's all.

Schman Strikes Again

Holy Cow, Jillian Michaels can make a work out video. Her new one is 7, yep SEVEN circuits of all cardio. No weights, just straight up movement the entire 45 minutes. It's amazing though. I feel more toned and fit after I do it. Even though I want to die during it. As she says in her 30-Day Shred, "I want you gargling your heart." Yep, sounds about right.

Here's to day 2 of intense cardio burn. Only 1 month until Vegas so I have a little bit of time. :)

New DVD!

I'm in love with the Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred but was looking for more cardio. Neeeeeed more cardio. Luckily, I saw this DVD today. I thought I'd try it out and see how it goes.

Goal #1

So, I'm taking baby steps this time around. I've always struggled with my weight, ever since I was a little girl. It may or may not have been from growing up with a Mexican nanny making me delicious homemade tortillas, etc without many veggies or fruit.

Anyway, I was at a comfortable weight for my wedding (which I worked VERY hard at), then after the honeymoon I just kinda stopped caring. BIG mistake. I gained 30 pounds in 6 short months. My clothes stopped fitting. My face changed. I didn't feel comfortable in my own skin. So, I decided to join Weight Watchers online. It's been very hjelpful in changing my eating habits. It's really all about portion control. Which I have none of. Control anyway. So one step at a time.

My first goal is to lose 9.8lbs.I'll explain later why the exact number. :) After I reach that goal, we'll discuss the next.

New Blog, New Me

Since I was tired of writing about my weight loss adventures on my blog, I figured I'd start another one. This way, if you care to read it you can. And I get to talk about it all I want.

So cheers to a fitter me!
